My cheese boards are all hand carved pieces of functional art. They are made of new, food safe, pieces of slate with cork feet.

They make wonderful gifts for consummate hosts and hostesses who appreciate finely crafted unique objects.

All carvings are made by hand using a brass mallet and steel chisel.

These are new pieces of Vermont black slate that were originally cut as shingles.  They have a nice rustic rough edge and original nail holes.

I also have pieces of antique slate shingles available.  They have amazingly beautiful unique character caused by the rain and aging out under the New England sky.  But please note that I can't vouch for these pieces being food safe.  I don't know where they have been and what materials they have come in contact with.  But they are very pretty.
